Do you transport eucalyptus?<\/strong><br \/>\nDriver: Yes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is the eucalyptus going to the factory in Set\u00fabal?<\/strong><br \/>\nThese ones are going to Set\u00fabal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To make what?<\/strong><br \/>\nThose are to make cellulose, pulp, paper.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How much money do you get per tonne?<\/strong><br \/>\nA tonne for the producer?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yes.<\/strong><br \/>\n42, 43 euros. At the factory.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The factory pays.<\/strong><br \/>\nThey pay, once it\u2019s there.<\/p>\n<p><strong>And how many tonnes do you transport?<\/strong><br \/>\nIt depends on the wood. The vehicle\u2019s maximum is 30 tonnes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Does a eucalyptus forest pay well?<\/strong><br \/>\nHere and now, cellulose is not bad. It still pays. For example, if you\u2019re going to do construction work, it doesn\u2019t pay. If you\u2019re going to do the infrastructure part on roads, the government doesn\u2019t pay. Not with this, you take the product to the factory and after 15, 20 days you get your money. Guaranteed payment \u2013 the factory doesn\u2019t end up owing money. It pays straight away or gives bank guarantees. You get to the end of the month and the factory pays straight away. Or not even the end of the month.<\/p>\n<p><strong>But eucalyptus trees are not very good for the environment, are they?<\/strong><br \/>\nit\u2019s possible they dry out the land a lot. I think that a piece of land planted with eucalyptus, after pulling out the eucalyptus trees, for about ten years it\u2019s possible it won\u2019t produce anything else. The soil has everything sucked out of it, it gets very \u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>And eucalyptus burns well?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes, it burns very well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do we think about wood when we look at a forest? Forest means trees which mean wood which mean money?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes, eucalyptus is worth money, but not pine. Eucalyptus is worth something, sometimes five euros more or five euros less\u2026 Now it\u2019s worth the most. In a year it\u2019ll come down a bit. Then it will go up a bit depending on need, depending on the factory\u2019s stocks.
