ECO123 is looking for someone to take up a leading position in its Advertising/Subscriptions team.

ECO123’s advertising and subscriptions team is tasked with maintaining the cooperative budget and journalistic independence of ECO123 by selling advertising and subscriptions for ECO123’s digital and printed versions. ECO123 is actively engaged in pursuing digital transformation and following the path towards CO2 neutrality. Our cooperative and editorial team are preparing for the point in time when ECO123 will be published on a weekly basis, exclusively in a digital format, with a printed edition “Yearbook – The Best of ECO123” being published once a year in November.This is why we are working hard to further expand and implement our digital services. Which is where you come in!


The job

Working in a publishing house such as ECO123 requires not only a passion for reading and writing about the news, but also the desire to be part of the changes taking place in this sector.

As a member of the board, you will be responsible for setting up the entire advertising team in Portugal and Europe. You will be organising, coordinating, motivating and leading the other members of your team.

One of your main tasks will be to develop fresh digital marketing strategies in close collaboration with ECO123’s other departments: editorial, production and distribution! You’ll also provide the main link with our external marketers in Europe.


What you should bring to the table

  • We would like a colleague who, as a member of our advertising and subscriptions team, will not only be personally motivated, but will also enjoy motivating others in shaping ECO123’s digital relaunch.
  • You should ideally have experience in online marketing, as well as the technical skills needed for handling advertising and newsletters (among others).
  • Communication should be second nature to you, in Portuguese, English and German!
  • You should have a proven record in project planning.
  • You should be skilled in building and leading teams and projects.
  • You should have a passion for the news sector, for monitoring trends and for advertising.


What we can offer

This is a permanent position, with a remuneration in accordance with ECO123’s in-house pay scale, plus a responsibility allowance and 30 days’ paid holiday. The training and trial period is 90 days.

We offer you family-friendly working times, the opportunity to work from home for part of the time, as well as a working environment set amid nature in Caldas de Monchique, Esgravatadouro.
